Q. How much do you charge for medical billing services?
A. Unlike most medical billing companies, we only charge a low monthly billing fee, with a very low start-up costs. There are no hidden costs or fees, so you always know what your charges are making it easier for you to budget.

Q. Why should I file electronically?
A. Electronic filing is definitely the way to go for a variety of reasons: It helps reduce human error as about 25% of all paper claims are delayed due to some sort of error, while electronic filings only have a rejection or error rate of about 2%; there’s a much faster return with electronic claims as they are considered priority and paid between 7-10 days; electronic claims save you an average of $7/claim to file; and processors need not re-key your claim into their system, which reduces adjudication errors.
 

Q. Why don’t more doctors file electronically?
A. Simply put it takes more time and a lot of training to change over from a paper system to an electronic system for many offices. That’s why we take pride in taking all the hassles and stress away from the doctors by handling all of the details for them. Our staff members are experts at medical billing and have been trained to handle any questions or complications should they occur.
 

Q. Are you compliant with HIPAA?
A. Yes. We are fully compliant with all of the HIPAA requirements and standards. Plus, we are knowledgeable and up-to-date on all the frequent changes to the rules and regulations so you don’t have to be.

 

Q. How long is the set-up process?
A. Once the contract is signed, the process generally takes 3-7 days. After reviewing your needs, we can provide a more accurate timeline.

 

Q. What if a patient has a billing question?
A. We can handle all of your patients’ billing questions. Simply refer them to our toll-free number where our knowledgeable staff will provide all the answers they need.
 

Q. What happens with unpaid claims?
A. We follow up on every claim until the complete payment has been received. We send out as many statements as necessary to ensure that the payment is complete.
 

Q. What if a doctor needs to access a patient’s record?
A. To free up office space, we provide a cost-effective and secure Internet-based system that will allow you to now chart, code and share information with other providers and lab systems without the use of a phone fax in addition to running patient ledgers and other reports.
 

Q. How often are claims processed?
A. Usually within 24 hours of receipt of the claim.
 

Q. Will any patient charts be taken out of our office?
A. No. Patient charts never leave your office. In some cases, we may require some notes for reference when filing for an appeal.

Q. How would I submit my information to you?
A. We provide a pick-up service for the information that is required for processing claims. Electronic claim processing can then begin once the information is entered into our system. A superbill can be picked up at your location, sent by mail, faxed or delivered by a professional carrier.

Q. How often will I receive reports?
A. Accountability is very important to us, and you will be able to track our success through reports that are provided to you monthly.

A. The average time to collect on electronic reimbursement is between 14 to 21 days.
 

Q. Can Imperial Medical Billing facilitate long distance contracts?
A. Yes we can. Out of town clients are handled the same way. Information is exchanged through fax, telephone, e-mail, regular mail or commercial carriers.
